THE HIDDEN REASON BEHIND YOUR HEALTH CHALLENGE...
...is your emotions.
Have you ever thought of that or looked into this?
Most people have no idea how their emotions are affecting their health. Do you?
Our western approaches to physical and mental health certainly have no clue.
Doctors look at the body as if they were looking at a car. They are the mechanics of our bodies. They look at organs, hormones, bones, brain, etc. Very rare is the doctor who asks how you’re feeling about your job, your marriage or if you’re worried about your kids. I don’t know of a single doctor who asks about serious losses in your life. They also don’t have time for this.
On the flip side, psychologists look at the ambiguous space of your mind and your emotions completely disconnected from the body. As trained counselors, we study your cognition (your thoughts) and your affect (your feelings), but we’re not taught anything about your body. Aside from some understanding of neurotransmitters and stress hormones, your psychologist doesn’t know what is physically happening in your body when you’re feeling happy or sad; worried or excited. And very few of them learn about how food affects emotions; which is a different subject.
Psychiatrists seem to straddle both worlds, but in reality they’re still mechanics. The are trained to use a combination of psychology and prescription drugs. Their drugs treat the symptoms of the mind and moods. These are some of the most controversial drugs in use.
Our medical sciences have not truly studied how your thoughts and feelings affect your body. But the fact that your doctor doesn’t study it doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
For example, we do know for a fact that…
Stress is one of the causes of heart disease
Stress is also a cause of acid reflux
Big traumas have sometimes been seen as a precursor to cancer
Stress and anxiety are seen as a contributor to hair loss
etc.
There are THOUSANDS of ways in which your emotions affect your physical health every single day.
Have you ever wondered what might be the emotions behind your physical symptoms? Such as, what might be the emotions contributing to headaches, digestive issues, arthritis, weight issues, thyroid issues, etc?
In a different dimension, have you wondered how your moods (happy, sad, anxious, angry, etc.) could be affecting the cells in your body?
